10 Oct-18 Dec. The 16th edition of Trend: New frontiers of the British scene takes place at Teatro Belli in Trastevere until 18 December, with the support of the capital and the British Council.
The drama festival provides a bridge between established and emerging British and Irish talent, and the programme contains award-winning works from noted playwrights as well as recent plays by younger authors. Translated from their original language into Italian, the plays in the theatre festival raise awareness of contemporary British theatre among a new audience.
The November programme includes Und by Howard Barker (31 Oct-3 Nov), Men in the Cities by Chris Goode (5-8 Nov), D.N.A (Bullying Play) by Dennis Kelly (10-12 Nov), Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons by Sam Steiner (14-16 Nov), The Pass by John Donnelly (17-19 Nov), Eden by Eugene O'Brien (21-22 Nov), In The Night Time (Before The Sun Rises) by Nina Segal (24-26 Nov), and Splendour by Abi Morgan (28 Nov-3 Dec).
The programme continues into December with Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again by Alice Birch (6-10 Dec), Blink by Phil Porter (11-13 Dec), and Mother Adam by Charles Dyer (16-17 Dec).
