Turner Whistler Monet.
10 Feb-15 May 2005. This exhibition arrives at the Tate Britain following highly acclaimed shows in both Toronto and Paris. One hundred paintings by these three near mythical artists of modern landscape painting - JMW Turner, James Abbott McNeill Whistler, and Claude Monet - including watercolours, prints and pastels are included. The exhibitions traces the similarities between the three artists as one of its themes. Light fascinated all three artists who were great experimenters with their medium. Views of the River Thames, the Seine and Venice feature heavily in the exhibition. These works were revolutionary and not always well received in their day but are now rightly considered modern classics.
