8-17 July 2005. This is undoubtedly one of the most important European jazz festivals. Since its inauguration in 1973, most of the greatest jazz musicians have been guests at this festival that takes place in Perugias theatres, streets, squares and halls. For 10 days, from morning to night, concerts, recitals and street parades overlap to the delight of thousands of jazz fans who come from all over the world. This years programme includes big names such as Brad Mehldau, Francesco Cafiso, Terence Blanchard, Cassadra Wilson, Lizz Wright, Oscar Peterson, Richard Galliano, the McCoy Tyner All Stars Band as well as some vintage for nostalgics with the likes of The Commodores, Al Jarreau and George Benson, and even Elton John.
