Possibly the most famous open-air opera season in the world thanks to its breathtaking setting in the ancient Roman arena, and the truly magic atmosphere of the programme. This year the season has been drawn up with an amorous theme in mind. It sees the staging of Don Giovanni by Mozart, Aida by Verdi, Carmen by Bizet, Romeo and Juliette by Gounod, Turandot and Tosca by Puccini. As always there are big names behind the scenes and on stage, but casts rotate so check the evening programme before you book.
