Violin Festival.
There will be a festival in Rome dedicated to the violin from 24 July to 7 Aug. The festival takes place in historic churches across the city and is a part of the wider initiative Millennium in musica omaggio a Giovanni Paolo II. All concerts begin at 21.00 and entrance is free. The programme is as follows:
Sun 24 July: Lenuta Ciulei violin, playing music by J.S. Bach and E. Ysaye. Chiesa di S. Silvestro al Quirinale, Via XXIV Maggio 10.
Thurs 4 Aug: The Orvieto Festival of Strings Ensembles playing music from Mozart, Boccherini, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky. Oratorio del SS. Sacramento al Tritone, Piazza Poli 11.
Sat 6 Aug: The Orvieto Festival of Strings Orchestra playing music by Pachelbel, Purcell, Torelli, Rossini. Chiesa di S. Silvestro al Quirinale, Via XXIV Maggio 10.
Sun 7 Aug: Cello duet by George Atansaiu and Constantin Negoita playing music by Boccherini, Telemann and Barriere. Oratorio del SS. Sacramento al Tritone, Piazza Poli 11.
