Virus Vitreum. Works by Giuliano Giuman
In the mid-1970s the Perugia-born Giuman began working in media such as photography, videotape, performance, and installation along with painting, which remains the foundation of his work. He started to work in glass in 1986, experimenting with assemblages and other techniques, using this medium for installations in large spaces or for interior architecture. As well as sculpture he has created a glass altar and an ambo for a late mediaeval church in Umbria, stained glass windows and so on.
He has also been invited to show his works at the International Biennial of Contemporary Glass exhibition at the Museo Correr in Venice, and he has one work in the collection of the Museo Vetrario of Murano. The 23 works on show, which include sculptures and installations, many of them large, are in dialogue with the light and reflections of Rome. 09.00-19.00. Mon closed.
