20-22 April. Rome is hosting a cultural programme of museum exhibitions, music and theatre to celebrate Natale di Roma - the city's 2,771st birthday - over the weekend of 20-22 April. The celebratory events include the outdoor spectacle Viaggio nei Fori in the Roman Forum - free for the occasion - on 21 April.
The weekend celebrations conclude with an open-air party between Piazza della Bocca della Verità and Via Petroselli - pedestrianised specially - with live music and street theatre from 14.30 to 20.00. For full programme details see city website or Natale di Roma Facebook page.
