Women Through the Ages: Looking Back and Moving Forward
Rome's John Cabot University marks International Women's Day.
5 March. John Cabot University (JCU) in Rome hosts a panel discussion entitled Women Through the Ages: Looking Back and Moving Forward, in the Aula Magna, Guarini Campus, on Tuesday 5 March at 18.00.
The discussion is part of a week-long series of events, from 4-8 March, to mark International Women’s Day. Participants include:
Mariarosiy Calleri (filmmaker and Ambassador for women entrepreneurs at the EU). She will discuss the importance of promoting positive and alternative female role models.
Sylvia Poggioli (journalist, Senior European Correspondent, National Public Radio). She will discuss the #MeToo movement in the US and Italy.
Vanna Vannuccini (journalist for La Repubblica, specialising in Iran) with Farian Sabahi (author and JCU professor). They will discuss the changing roles of women in Iran.
Wilma Labate (director and screenwriter): She will discuss the challenges faced by Italian women working in the male-dominated field of cinema.
The discussion will be moderated by Professor Tara Keenan, John Cabot University.
Those attending the event will be asked to show identification at the door, and must register in advance.
