La Villetta
This large Roman restaurant near Piramide is popular with fans of the AS Roma football team, including some of its players.
The food is good and typically Roman, and the portions are large. House specialities include rigatoni alla carbonara, tonnarelli alla gricia and gnocchi con radicchio e scampi, with a good range of meat dishes and home-made desserts too.
The walls are plastered with photos of celebrities, many of them Roma footballers, and a warm welcome is guaranteed from the restaurant's charismatic owner Claudio (who appears in practically every photo).
